Commissioning a Work
Creating a successful sculpture is not only creating a beautiful sculpture that can stand on its own as a work of art, but capturing the personal interests and experiences of the owner. The final sculpture should produce an emotional response from the purchaser. Process circumstances may vary, however the following steps are typical: First meeting: We will discuss subject, design, size, patina, and base possibilities. Approx. 1-2 hrs. Second meeting: I will return with sketches and/or photos of possibilities for the sculpture. Approx. 1 hrs . Third meeting: A Marquette is produced and discussed and if necessary, more meetings will be scheduled. Approx. 1-3 hrs. Upon completion of the sculpting process, a final approval will be obtained before casting or final carving. |
